Flag Post Terminals ensure that you have the best connection possible. They are used to connect two in-line battery cables to a battery post. Each flag post terminals is cast with 131 contact copper. Using 93% to 95% of copper eliminates potential liability and cost associated with products containing lead. These flag post terminals are electro-plated with a bright tin finish. Each one has raised letters indicating wire size and post type. This makes identification seamless and easy. For added corrosion protection, a layer of epoxy is added to the surface of the nuts and bolts. This epoxy coating also serves to maintain consistent torque as well as galvanic protection. How do you use flag post terminals? The first step is to strip all the battery cables you will be using to the correct length. After that, slide the flag post terminal over the exposed portion of the first cable. A deep chamber chamfered entry allows for easy cable installation. To properly secure the flag post terminal while making a solid connection, you will need to crimp it with the correct tool. Now, repeat the process on the other side of the flag post terminal with the other battery cable. If you need extra protection, add epoxy-lined heat shrink. Make sure to cover the area where the base of the terminal meets the cable insulation. Selecting the correct battery post terminal isn't always an easy task.
