Tinned copper braid, also known as flat braid cable, is a tight weave of soft drawn tinned copper wire. It is originally constructed as a tube that is rolled flat creating a specific width. What is braided cable? Braid is the term they use to refer to a tubular sheath made of braided strands of wire. These strands can range from the tens to even hundreds of different strands. Where would you use it? 1/8" Flat braid cable has a wide range of uses. It is excellent when used in shielding a wire bundle. It is also ideal when used as a low impedance ground path. 1/8" Flat braid cables are also popular for use as a radio frequency grounding strap. It is even used as a strong connection between larger components. As an added bonus, 1/8" flat braid cable is extremely flexible. The flexible, tinned copper conductors make it ideal for use in marine conditions.
