Deutsch boots are a line of protective covers built for use with the DT series line of connectors. They are designed to slide over the wire and then be pulled over the assembled connection point. In this way, they offer an additional layer of protection from moisture, dirt, dust, and other environmental hazards including abrasion and impact. DT series boots are used by some of the biggest boat builders and can protect electrical connections in the toughest of environments. From their simple installation to their long-lasting design, these are the boots you need for that extra protection.
Where would I use Deutsch cavity plugs?
Deutsch cavity plugs are designed for use with Deutsch connectors when there are open cavities not filled by contacts. This is important as they offer an additional layer of protection from environmental hazards such as moisture, dirt, dust, and more. Sounds similar to the boots above, doesn’t it? The main difference is that the boots go outside of the connection point and the cavity plugs go inside the connection point. We cannot recommend these enough. They ensure that your electrical connections require less maintenance and last longer than they would without cavity plugs. These cavity plugs offer field serviceability and a smooth installation process.
How do I use Deutsch contact removal tools?
Using Deutsch contact removal tools is a surprisingly simple process that starts with finding the correct size contact removal tool for the intended wire. Once you have the correct removal tool, the next step is to slide the central tube of the tool over the wire itself. Now, with the wedge-lock out of the way, simply push the removal tool towards the connector body with gentle force. Upon breaching the entrance of the connector body continue to apply gentle pressure while working the tool in a circular motion. Continue this process until you feel the interior lock of the connector body release. At this point, hold the tool in place and gently pull on the wire until it comes out of the connector body. If at any point the wire stops, reapply pressure to the tool and continue to work in a circular motion until you feel the lock give away a second time.
